BLEECH

A Sonic Force Born from Grunge and Brotherhood

From the heart of North East, Maryland, BLEECH is more than just a rock band—it’s a brotherhood forged in distortion, destiny, and a shared obsession with face-melting riffs. Founded in January 1997, BLEECH began as three high school friends—Danny Briones (lead vocals, lead guitar), Chuck Briones (bass, vocals), and Mark Ham (rhythm guitar, vocals)—jamming before life pulled them in different directions. Seven years later, fate (and an undeniable urge to rock) brought them back together, and BLEECH was officially born.
Their name pays homage to Nirvana’s debut album Bleach, a nod to their love of the grunge era, with a slight spelling tweak to make it their own. The band’s sound, however, refuses to be boxed in. With influences spanning from Alice in Chains to Wilco, Foo Fighters to Fleetwood Mac, and even Beastie Boys to Bob Marley, BLEECH weaves a rich and unpredictable sonic tapestry. Their music—both in their high-energy live covers and original recordings—is fueled by their individual tastes, ensuring every show hits with a unique punch.
BLEECH has left their mark on the Mid-Atlantic rock scene, sharing the stage with national acts like Ice Cube and CKY, and shattering attendance records at 98 Rock’s Noise in the Basement series. Their debut studio album, Appellation (2009), showcased their raw talent, and in 2025, they return with three new tracks, proving they’ve only gotten sharper with time.
And then there’s the Craigslist miracle. In 2009, when their original drummer departed, BLEECH took a shot in the dark and posted an ad on what was then a fledgling website. Enter Joe Orlowsky, a seasoned drummer looking for the exact kind of band BLEECH was meant to be. The fit was instant, and he’s been driving the band’s relentless rhythm ever since.
As they gear up for a packed summer of shows and new releases, BLEECH remains exactly what they’ve always been—four musicians, four friends, and one unstoppable rock ‘n’ roll machine.
